Chi Herbal Wrap Testimonial

Several weeks ago I suffered a significant blunt force trauma to my left leg.  I am a veterinarian and I was out on a call to attend to a Percheron mare that was experiencing colic (abdominal pain).  My patient was a horse that is highly spirited, weighs 1350 pounds, and doesn’t particularly care to see her doctor.  After allowing a brief examination of her head, she turned quickly and fired a kick with her hind leg that landed on my left quadriceps muscle group, midway between my hip and knee.  When this area is injured, it’s often referred to as a “Charlie-Horse,” and I had just received the “Charlie-Horse” of a lifetime.

Bumps and bruises are part and parcel to working with large animals, but this injury was significant.  Immediately I began shivering, I could bare little weight on my left leg, and I could feel the leg beginning to swell.  I quickly concluded the visit and went into the clinic to place a liniment directly on the wound along with a supportive bandage to help me walk while controlling the swelling.  I ordered some Chi Herbal Muscle & Joint Kits and awaited their arrival.

This was Tuesday afternoon and the kits would arrive on Thursday.  In the meanwhile I began using Chi Herbal Foot Energy Spray, in massages and poultices to encourage circulation to the area.  I was delighted to find no discoloration in the area.  However, my limp was pronounced, and the swelling stretched from just below my hip down to, and encompassing, my kneecap.  Additionally it was very difficult to rest at night as the leg throbbed in pain.

On Thursday the Chi Herbal Muscle & Joint Kits arrived and I placed one directly over the point of hoof contact.   There was a perfect imprint of half of the horses hoof on my thigh, and a superficial scab had begun to form.  I kept the wrap on overnight and the warmth that it brought to my leg allowed me to sleep more comfortably.  The next day (Friday) the swelling appeared the same but there was less pain.  A mild degree of redness and raised skin were left where the patch had been.  I continued with application of the Chi Herbal Harmonizing Spray and gentle massage to the area.  By Saturday the pain associated with moving around was vastly improved over what it had been prior to the Muscle & Joint wrap application.  This surprised me, as I anticipated that the swelling and bruising would worsen as the week went by.  I continued to apply either the Chi Herbal Harmonizing Spray or Chi Foot Energy Spray onto my thigh, lightly massaging the area morning and evening.

By day five post-injury, the pain remained at a low level.  I still walked with a slight limp.  The swelling was nearly resolved in the area from my hip to my knee, and the pain seemed to be in the area where my quadriceps muscles originated (up towards my hip) and where they inserted (down towards my knee). To my amazement, there was absolutely no yellow or purple discoloration around the wound whatsoever.  In contrast, my lower leg began to swell and turn purple.  I was beginning to feel some discomfort in my calf and around my ankle.  I had completely neglected to treat this area with any herbal product!

For the next week I treated the entire leg with the Chi Foot Energy liquid product twice daily.  The pain lessened, but a slight limp persisted especially up by my hip and down by my knee.  I applied the second wrap in these two locations and left it on for 18 hours.  The day after I took the wrap off I began walking normally, and only with the effort of carrying two forty-pound pales of water out to the barn did I notice any weakness or stiffness in my leg.  This was 12 days after the horse had kicked me.  The swelling had resolved completely.  There was a slight purplish discoloration below my kneecap and down around my ankle.

Traditional Chinese Physicians would characterize my injury as a blood stagnation disorder.  Clients and colleagues who saw me hobbling on the day of the injury expected that the pain and swelling in my leg would increase in the days ahead.  Instead I experienced a rapid and steady recovery with the help of the Chi Herbal Muscle & Joint Wraps and topical herb products.  The potent herbs they contain increased circulation to the area and relieved my blood stagnation.  After this experience, I now carry these herbal wraps in my vet truck for whatever the day may bring!
